- Any family whose gross monthly income does NOT exceed $1500.
- An individual who is unemployed or who’s gross monthly income does not exceed $500.
- Any individual or family who is receiving governmental food assistance in excess of $100 for an individual or $150 for a family will NOT be eligible to participate in this program.
The MISF will give preference to families over individuals, particularly those families which are led by one parent with minor aged children.
Potential applicants will be provided an application form for which they will complete and return to the MISF. This application form will be distributed in person, by mail and is also accessible online here. There will be no established deadline for submitting the application, however, applications will be reviewed by the board at the beginning of each month. Applications will be accepted continuously but reviewed once monthly. Once an application has been approved, an identical application will not be reviewed again within 1 calendar year.
- Selection/Approval process
The executive board of directors will meet monthly to review all applications to determine which applicants are most in need based on the eligibility criteria put forth above. They will vote on which applicants shall receive a distribution for the impending month. This vote will take place no later than 1 week prior to the distribution date. Once approved, each applicant will be notified and given an on-line security code permitting them to complete and submit their requested items from the grocery menu list. Once the grocery menu list is received, each applicant will be notified and the delivery logistics will be arranged and finalized. Each approved applicant will receive a monthly distribution for 2 consecutive months only. As stated above, once approved, a recipient will not be eligible to receive any distributions under this program within a 12-month period.
Distributions will take place on the 15th of each month. (Exceptions will be made to accommodate special circumstances such as holidays, inclement weather, etc.) Distributions will be delivered to the home(s) of the recipient(s) or arrangements will be made for a pick up – whichever is most suitable to the recipient(s).
